This attachment is best for large muscle groups like quads, lats, and pecs.įork – The fork attachment is for certain muscles like the upper traps, forearms, and calves. It has roughly the same surface area but is a bit denser. It is made of a softer material with a larger surface area, allowing for more forgiveness when using on tender areas like the neck.įoam Ball – The foam ball is one step up from the cushion attachment in terms of firmness. Neither of us had experience with a massage gun, but were able to figure out how to use it on our areas of discomfort pretty quickly and easily. Both the Hypervolt and Hypervolt Plus come with five attachment heads:Ĭushion – The cushion attachment is great for those new to the Hypervolt or for more sensitive areas. My wife and I regularly get massages, but that can get pricey so investing in the Hypervolt was definitely worth it for us. In my opinion every dentist could receive benefits or comfort from this. I personally think anyone doing high intensity workouts or any type of physical job should consider investing in a machine gun. I actually had my wife use the Hypervolt on the area and the next day I was playing tennis and had very minimal muscle soreness. Just last week I pulled a back muscle which doing weights at the gym and usually when this happens the next day I’m in a lot of pain and can’t do much physical activity. I also use it a lot after working out and I’ve definitely noticed a difference and improvement in my muscle soreness. My wife and I are both dentists so we get a lot of neck and back pain from work, so using this has really helped alleviate some discomfort. Overall I think this was a great investment in my health and body. When its on high there is some vibration to the hand/wrist.įor example, my mom who is over 60 personally felt that the vibration to her hand/wrist was uncomfortable after a couple minutes, but again this is a personal preference that will vary for each person and depending on your strength and age. While I personally have no issue with the weight, for someone with weaker hands/wrists it may be a little harder to hold for longer periods. I do want to mention is that it does have some weight to it (2.5 lbs), which is to be expected for a machine that can provide such powerful movements. The machine is meant to be used on muscle areas, so you do want to be careful not to run it too hard over areas of bone as this can cause some discomfort. However, I will say it does help to watch some YouTube videos to get a better idea of how to use each of the different heads and where on your body. You really don’t need any experience to use it. One thing I like about this machine is that its overall very user friendly, its easy to change the heads and start using on yourself. Generally used for smaller/harder-to-reach muscle groups like the subscap and feet, as more localized treatment in larger muscle groups Bullet- The bullet attachment has the smallest surface area of all the head attachments. The hard material does not absorb any of the percussion, allowing it to penetrate more deeply into the tissue Flat Head- The flat attachment generally works best to cover a larger area on a denser muscle group such as hamstrings or glutes. Some people prefer having two points of contact on certain muscle groups to help against a "ticklish" feeling. Fork- The fork attachment is best used on paraspinal muscles, upper traps, forearms, and ankle/calves (without making contact with the achilles tendon). It provides roughly the same surface area, but the foam is slightly more dense, so it does work well on large muscle groups like quads, lats, and pecs. Foam Ball - The foam ball attachment is one step up form the cushion attachment in terms of firmness. It features the softest material with largest surface area, and provides a little more "give" when using on tender spots or more sensitive areas like the neck. Cushion- The cushion attachment is best for beginners. It comes with these 5 different head attachments.
